Programs
At Barnsley Academy, our curriculum is developed using the Pennsylvania State Standards.
Each student will be treated as an individual and their needs will be met to the best of our ability through differentiation. Barnsley's core values drive our interactions with your child each day.

Enrichment Programs
We offer enrichment programs at no additional charge at our Academy. Based on your child's ability and age, we offer these classes to broaden their horizons. Language classes begin with day to day phrases each teacher will work to integrate into daily classroom time. New Vocabulary will be taught in Language class. Science classes are a great way for your child to learn about themed topics. These are just a few examples of how Barnsley Academy will expand your child's wealth of knowledge before they even make it to Kindergarten.

Infant / 20 months
We stimulate and challenge our infants through singing, talking, holding, and playing with them. We encourage and practice developmental milestones, such as, reaching, grasping, rolling, sitting, crawling, standing, walking, climbing, throwing, catching, kicking, cooing, and talking. We practice developing loving, caring, and nurturing relationships with each and every child. Educational videos and iPads are used everyday. We also keep a photo journal of your developing child so you can watch your child grow. Diapers checked hourly.
20 months / 36 months
Children at our 20-36 month age group will be encouraged to make decisions, explore the world around them, and develop relationships through daily free play. Your child will engage in daily music, arts & crafts, dramatic and physical activities to develop and expand their creativity, imagination, and motor skills. We use books and songs to help develop and expand vocabulary. Educational videos and iPads used everyday. We also keep a photo journal of your developing child and log special milestones so you may watch your child grow. Diapers checked hourly
3 years / 4 years
Children in our 3-4 Pre-school group will focus on expanding vocabulary through listening, talking and describing during daily circle and story times. We will encourage sensory experiences and creativity through arts and crafts. Your child will learn self-expression through music, song, and dance. We will focus on practicing numbers, letters, shapes, and colors throughout each daily activity. Children in this age group are curious, we offer hands on activities to encourage exploring the world around them. We will encourage large motor skill development through outside play on age- appropriate equipment. Educational videos and iPads used everyday. We will keep a journal for each child showcasing the highlights of their week. Also, weekly reports and photos will be included as well as accomplishments your child has reached. These journals will go home on weekends so each child can explain their journal to their family.
4 years / 5 years
Children in our 4-5 Pre-school group will be encouraged to use problem solving skills in daily hands on activities. We will develop and expand vocabulary through talking, listening, describing and reading during circle and story time. Children will expand knowledge of numbers, letters, shapes, colors, months, days, and other age- appropriate concepts through daily activities and meaningful play. We will encourage developing relationships with peers and teachers through daily group activities. Children will be encouraged to expand and develop self-expression, imagination, and creativity throughout all daily activities. Educational videos and iPads used everyday. We will keep a journal for each child showcasing the highlights of their week. Also, weekly reports and photos will be included as well as accomplishments your child has reached. These journals will go home on weekends so each child can explain their journal to their family
Summer Camp
Summer Camp provides daily indoor and outdoor activities. Each week has a fun theme which activities are centered. Bike riding, playground and water play are daily outside activities whenever possible. Campers also participate in learning activities. Campers are supplied with an educational workbook and writing journals. We believe learning should continue year round. Campers will have 15 mins of daily reading to help them along with their summer reading goals for school. Indoor activities include wii, computer and ipad time along with numerous games & toys. * (We will not be offering this program in Summer 2024)
